Mr. Beyene Assefa has worked in the capacity of Tour Guide on a cultural and historical tour of Ethiopia which I organised and accompanied, with the support of the Group of Friends of the National Museum of Archaeology, Lisbon (Portugal), and the travel agency Trilhos do Mundo (Portugal). Mr Beyene Assefa is an enthusiastic tour guide whose hard working attitude is constantly sparked by his warm and sociable personality. His knowledge of the human and natural history of Ethiopia, of the country’s ancient history and of its cultural and ethnographic diversity, makes him an ideal guide for any tour of Ethiopia. His understanding of the English language, our language of communication while in that country, is also excellent, and he was capable of dealing with our daily tour needs, both cultural and logistical, with exemplary efficiency. Finally, I must add that our tour members felt privileged to have spent 17 days with Mr Beyene Assefa, as a constant source of knowledge about Ethiopia, past and present, and to have shared his company as a friend during our stay in that country. We all strongly recommend him as a Tour Guide to any tour of Ethiopia.

I and my friend had travelled to Ethiopia in 2019 and spent our holidays with Mr.Beyene. He is an experienced Ethiopian guide with a good proficiency of English. He has a passion for Ethiopia and has strong knowledge of its culture, history, wildlife, architecture and landscape. His experience and reliability make traveling in Ethiopia hassle and risk free.

Beyene was our guide for a two week trip around northern Ethiopia in January 2023. Having had many tour guides in the past, we always hope for the best but expect much less. Beyene however exceeded our expectation in every way. He has an in depth knowledge of his country, from history to politics, to everyday day life. He went out of his way to provide us with an amazing, unforgettable trip, and it is certainly one we will remember for many, many years.
