Combined Tours to Southwest & Omo Valley Safari


Day1: Arrive Addis Ababa– Met by our staff member and transfer to hotel. Balance of the day site seeing in the capital and visit mount Entoto with a commanding view over to the town, church of St Mary, Entoto museum with a collection of royal objects and the grass thatched roof palace of king Menilk the 2nd of Ethiopia. Then back to the city for an extra visit of the National museum, Markato and so on. Over night hotel.
Day2: Addis Ababa-Jimma– after break fast drive form Addis Ababa to Jima crossing the Gebe river valley. Lunch on the way or picnic. Late in the afternoon arrive in Jima and vist Jimm Musume. Over night hotel.
Day3: Jimma-Mizan Teferi– third day drive to one of the 2 small towns. Early Morning, drive to Jimma Abajifar palace and procced to Mizan Teferi/Bonga. On the way visit villages and stop at Gumoro Tea plantation farm. Ater Lunch in Bonga drive to Sore water fall then continue to Mizan Teferi or sleep in Bonga. Over night hotel.
Day4: Mizan Teferi-Tum– Drive from Mizant Teferi-Tum (260kms), stop at some village’s tribes of Menit, Dizziy and Surma villages. If Saturday visit market in Tum and late in the afternoon drive to the colour ful Maji market to see Surmma, Dizziy and Menit Tribes. Over night camping.
Day5: Tum-Kibish- Drive from Tum-Kibish on the way visit the Koka village where the Surmma are living. Then late in the afternoon, walk aroung the village of Tulgit where most of the time stick fighting ceremony or Donga is going on. Over night camping.
Day6: Kibish– full day in kibish, in the morning go to one of the Summa houses and see live ox/cow blood sucking and Tatoo making. After lunch in the afternoon, more sightseeing of one or two villages of Surmma people who are photogenic society. Over night camping.
Day7: Kibish-Mizan Teferi- breakfast then drive to Mizanteferi via Dima town located between Ethiopia and South Sudan. On the way visit Bebeka state coffee farm, the largest and oldest farm in Ethiopia founded in beginning of 1960’s. Over night hotel.
Day8: Mizan–Gambella– (338ks)- the whole day driving west to Gambella town through wonderful landscape with indignious natural forests. Stop at Bebeka state coffee plantation and villages on the way. Over night hotel.
Day9: – Gambella– Full day in Gambella, In the morning, day trip to to Itang and Jikao villages (48ks) to visit Nuer people then after lunch in Gambella, go to one of the villages of Aguwak people mostly living nearby gambella town. Over night hotel.
Day10: Gambella-Jimma- (425ks)- today we drive to Jimma town via the villages of Majanger and Oromo people. On the way visit coffee and tea farmlands, which are owned by private cooperatives. Over night hotel.
Day11: Jimma-Arbaminch– early breakfast and drive to Arbaminch town through a magnificent landscape with stops at Gibe river valley and Gibe hydroelectric power dam. Lunch on the way in Sodo town then more drive to Chencha village to visit the Dorze people and their beautiful villages. Over night lodge.
Day12: Arbaminch-Turmi– after an early checkout going for boat trip over lake Chamo to see Hippos, crocodiles and some aquatic birds. Head to Konso village for lunch then more drive to Keyafer village for the beautiful Thursday or any other available market days. Over night lodge.
Day13: Turmi- full day in Turmi with a drive to Koricho village to see the Karo people. After noon drive to Omorate village to see the Dassenche people living on the other side of Omo River. Cross the river by wooden boat and approach to their small village with a population of not more than 1000 people. Back to Turmi and late afternoon visit the Hamer village and walk around accompanied by young girls and boys who are singing and playing Evangadi dance going on night evening time when there is wedding ceremony. Over night lodge.
Day14: Turmi- Jinka- late breakfast then precede Jinka town with stop at any available market places. Turmi market on Monday, Dimeka market on Saturday, Alduba market on Tuesday, Keyafer madrket on Thursday and Jinka market on Saturday. Late afternoon visits Ari village that are living all round Jinka town. Over night hotel.
Day15: Jinka-konso– early breakfast then go to Mursi village living in Mago NP. Then back Jinka for lunch and proceed to Konso village with a short stop at Keyafer market falling every Thursday. Over night lodge.
Day16: Konso-Arbaminch-Addis Ababa- leave your lodge and drive to one of Konso villages, a cultural world heritage site and visit the beautiful grass thatched houses and their terrace farmlands. More drive to Arbaminch to catch the flight to Addis Ababa. do some activities in the capital then drop off at airport after farewell dinner in one traditional restaurant. End of the tour.
